| Schmiddy Cant wait to play it. I really need a beta key |
Jimmy123 I thought id wait till WAR was released until i build myself a new P.C but seeing and reading up on AoC ive changed my mind. It looks to be a great game |
| Airslayerx Just let me say this, when WAR comes out, I won't be surprised if other game companies(blizzard, nc soft, etc.) lose some major cash, I heard the beta test is better than Wow. |
Bachanam Personally I think the entire game is what attracts me to it. Sticking to the Lore of Conan, keeping him the intelligent Strong-willed Conan from the books as opposed to the funny yet incorrect Drunken Bafoon Conan from the movies ((which i still enjoy, punching a camel while drunk then seeing it later and it is retarded from your fist)) Keeping to the 3 kingdoms and their styles (classes/beliefs etc.) This is a well rounded game in my opinion, but if I had to choose one of the poll options, considering I have a beer in my hand, I'm gonna have to say the Conan-style Humor is what gives me the tinglies right now!! |
| Fex What attracts me to WAR is everything in it. The PvP (RvR) sounds just so nicely done, and is all what I ever wanted from a MMORPGs PvP aspect! Also, the PvE sounds very interesting! Can't wait! |
Skyline Combat Sytem and Graphics attracts me most to AoC. Although, Those two alone will not hold my attention for long if they don't have other things to offer. Content! Content! Content! |
| Crimsonsteel This game looks brilliant to me, and with mythic's extensive experience and the rich lore and backing of games workshop, this game is going to rock! |
Btk I will try AoC when it releases and am excited they kept on target with the lore from Robert E Howard. However, WAR is supposed to release a few months after AoC, so there will no doubt be a flame war over which one is more fun. I loved RvR in DAoC, but the unique mechanics of AoC are what will probably sway my decision. |
| JohnRambo I'l try both for sure. I hope at least one of them can live up to the expectations... |
Daworm The classes need to be updated. Lich is merged into Necro and DotS and Scion of Set are merged into a new class "Tempest of Set". Also, Game Cards will be available --|||Edited and Updated, THANKS!|||-- |
I have been following this game since Climax was at the helm. I just love the game mechanics. Plus, the game is not a system hog. RvR is going to be a blast. |
The Gameplay section seems wrong in chunks. Max levels are wrong (Max level is 80). Formations are wrong (and gone from the game). --|||UPDATED! New max levels|||-- |
WAR is going to be the best game EVER, huge RvR battles where you will try to take your enemies capital city & taking over keeps. 24 classes and at lvl 40 you can choose 1 of 3 paths, or you can mix them up. so more than 92 classes!!! |
Formations are still in and can be player made the actual feature that gave buffs and gave one person control over the location of a player group is gone due to being to restrictive. The game will also come out in Spanish and has a spanish community site, other language packs might be made available later and as downloadable content for free on the main site. Odd that you didn't list english in the european distrubution. Prestige classes are out, the benefits and abilities will now go into a more open and flexible "salad bowl" system. --|||UPDATED! Thanks for the input|||-- |

Look at the left side, better game there. |
Wooohooo! WAR is gonna be the bomb! |
AoC sux |
There's no competition between WAR and AoC. They are to some extent very different. Also imo the AoC lore sucks. |
Adrian Alexa I'm in the AoC beta, and I must admit, IT IS CRAP! I got REALY bored when I hit level 10...REALY bored...Combat takes like 4 seconds and you don't even NEED to use any Spells, Special attacks, etc. The combat is WAYY to easy. PvP is also short and realy boring, because the "minigames" have realy small maps, and bad content... |
Look at the right side, better game there. |
WarSUXXOR Im in WAR Beta and man does it suck compared to AoC. War has a lot of whiny little kids on it. It's another 1 button masher, whereas Conan takes some coordination to play. Conan isnt gear dependant, saw a video from kissmybuns.net that a naked lvl 20 was ganking everything she saw, Looked awesome!!! WAR Beta=FAIL AoC=PASS |
War>AoC |
Sulvor Awesome Game, Won't do as good as War because its more Mature based... and we all know what kind The Internet Breeds mainly... So AoC = Mature, WAR=Kiddies (WoW PVP'rs) my 2 cents. Oh and the system Requirements are more than the average mommas boy can afford. |
WAR is better |
DarkfallMortalEarthriseShadowbaneClassicUO AoC is just a clone of WoW! This is a (PvE) mmo. Anyone who thinks this is a PvP mmo is just a fag that has no skill that hides behind gear, items and level! Shame on you! |
| Adrian Alexa WAR, I think will be the champion. It looks awsome. I have seen all the podcasts/gameplay videos and it looks amaizing! |
I think Age of Conan will be better because of the more mature content |

UUUUUUNNNNNCCCCEEEEEE!!!! |
| Adrian Alexa + This information is a bit outdated |
Maddi This. game. will. rock. I definately love the fact that it is so heavily pvp oriented, but with what we've all seen, there might be balance issues, QQing and patches more to anyone's liking... The combat system is what draws me to this game. It is simple and complex in all the right ways, and there is a higher skill requirement than just pressing buttons fast enough. It is more invoved and realistic... kinda... and of course... the graphics? *cream* 'Nuff said. The character customization option is what is very unique, as Funcom has an understanding the in an online world with thousands of players, individuality is VERY coveted. It will be provided in AoC, and that is what will give others incentive to "choose their name and carve their destiny". Very appealing. AoC > WAR |
| DarkfallMortalEarthriseShadowbaneClassicUO Warhammer is just a clone of WoW! This is a (PvE) mmo. Anyone who thinks this is a PvP mmo is just a fag that has no skill that hides behind gear, items and level! Shame on you! |
Maddi whoa wtf happened to my comment |
| Rofl Since warcraft cloned warhammer when the first game launch, why would their not be similarities? The races look different, the races are for the most part different... and their is meaning behind loosing in RvR over the crap that Blizzard calls BGs. Personally I am gonna give AoC a shot first, if it is the suck at least WAR will keep me away from the fail blizzard is charging us for. |
Grah I don't know... AoC doesn't look like its quite ready for release just yet. Warhammer on the other hand has been bumped back two or three times and it still might not be out when they say it will be. I want the game to be playable when it comes out. I don't want to have to download a patch every other day. |
| Waaagh WAAAAGH! War is almost here! Can finally delete WoW from the hard drive. |
Littlejohnny Im only 11 years old and ill be pwaying age of conan it will pwn . more like craphammer oncrap. lawls. |
All I have to say is that Warhammer online is awesome |
and age of conan is going to blow chunks out on the rug |
| Faghammer Online Warhammer, haha more like Faghammer |
Sgtsniper AoC will not do as well as warhammer due to the fact that kids have more time on their hands than adults which means kids play mmos much more often. Warhammer is just like WoW, not only that but the creators of War are MYTHIC! The same mythic who completely destroyed DAoC! War will attract more kids than adults, while AoC attracts more adults than kids, which imo makes it a better game even without everything that war has (which rly aint 2 much) im 15, and i hate wow 1 more day, god its taking forever! |
any1 who plays this game is gonna be boned by mythic, just like in daoc |
Looks promising, I'll wait for some reviews before I decide though. About grinding: it's what all mmos are about. If you don't like it, try some other genres. |
| DrowNoble EA has their filthy hands in this game so I will not be touching it. Soon as Mark Jacobs sold out his company I lost all respect for them. |
You have to laugh at Sgtsniper talking about more kids playing WAR and adults will be playing AoC. He is only 15, he is a kid himself....he shouldn't even be playing AoC unless he lies on his age when registering |
| Tebbycakes. Looks like WoWHammer online to me. |
Cuntflaps HELLLLOOOOO |
Looks amazing. Can't wait to give it a whirl. For the blood god! |
Nonan 49.95 for this and its a subscription. no thanks! |
| Optional With all the talk about WoW and Warhammer being a clone I don't think that is a bad thing. WoW has destroyed everything so far that has come out. Lets face it how many of you have LoR or D&D online subscriptions and how many of you have WoW subscriptions. If WAR can give the 9 million of us that play WoW a better yet similar experience than it will win. Also I wanted to try out AoC and was a little annoyed to find that there wasn't a playable demo. I found somebody with a copy and while I now have the demo codes he would have to mail me his CD's to install. Also I don't know if I would go for the Tekken type PvP mechanics and Mortal Kombat style fatalities. Still enjoy hearing the Undead death sound. |
Looking forward to AoC simply because of the combat system. Granted WAR seems to be a good game and both will compete with WoW but AoC just seems to have more to offer. Neither are very revolution just better gfx's and different gameplay however AoC seems to be something refreshing and new. Will deffinetly give both a try but i think AoC has the edge which can be seen in it's preder and beta records over 1milion signed up before the game as even launched thats better than any MMO even Wow didn't get that. Can't wait going to be awsome. |
World of Warhammer Craft, nuff said. |

| Var Well I can't know for sure since I have not played either game, but after reading about both games I have to say WAR looks like it will be alot better. |
Milinko AoC seems to be way to easy to level up in, i saw a level 80 not even 3 days after the release. Also, major bug issues right now, they should of pushed release back again and fixed more of the issues it has. Oh and the graphics are not that all impressive, this game did not live up to my expectation. Looking forward to WarHammer Online. |

A lot of kids are going to play Aoc doesn't really matter what the rating is im 15 and i play aoc btw the game is asume im a lvl 35 assassin and still having plenty of fun |
i can finally delete wow |
Jebise milinko u are an idiot AoC isnt easy to lvl just becouse someone is lvl 80 doesn't meant anything he probably plays non stop and got the 3 day early sing up and if u think the graphics are bad u need a new computer it looks amazing. There is some bugs like getting stuck but that happens to all mmos thats why they keep patching it up wow has been out for about 4 years and they still patch it regularly fixing bugs |
War is for children who want the same thing as WoW with a different name. The graphix are the same or worse from my point of view. Face it. Just keep your WoW account and save your money. |
TXCAngel is it just me or do i see a significantly lower rate of flaming and trash talk on this side of the arena? (AoC side i mean) |
| Truth "War is for children who want the same thing as WoW with a different name. The graphix are the same or worse from my point of view. Face it. Just keep your WoW account and save your money." lol I agree. Is anyone actually looking at the videos and images posted? They look worse than WoW in some cases and why would you want that??? Maybe if your lucky Bliz will give you an expansion that lets you have the 1 or 2 differences that are in WAR! Maybe in 7 or 8 years or so... |
Not really TXCAngel, AoC is a toilet. Mature my ass |
had beta game wasn't what it was supposed to be at all. |
AoC isn't fun. |
| FORCE ITS ALLRIGHT! |
Ravorn Funcom are a pack of liers they sold me 20% of a game and the other 80% is broken and they dont even look like they are going to fix it anytime soon. Funcom has the worst CS taking care of a wopping 5 tickets a day on my server(stormrage). Warhammer or Bust is what i say. but dont take my word for it waste your money and see for your self. Youll likely disagree with me till around level 35-40. But youll see. |
These guys REALLY need to give the graphics an edge, thats the only thing holding me back from luvin' it so far, I mean look at the buildings!! they look PLASTIC, the game needs an authentic 'feel', just like WoW pwned the cartoony feel :P |
Laggos With AOCs' better graphics and massive PVP, it will certainly be a popular game. I mean Guild owned battlekeeps, that just awesome. And the quest givers talking to u. The content in AOC is quite unique and i cant wait to play it |
| Vet The graphics for WAR look horrible. I mean, AoC may have some high system requirments but WAR should at least try to find a happy medium. |
Laggos Cheaper than WOW slightly for australians as well |
yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AOCC!!!! |
Gwill GO AOC |
| Derek G. It really isnt fair to compare these games becase their based on 2 totally diffrent things. AND WarHammer = fanatasy, AoC = realism ( more than Warhammer). AoC is more mature gameplay ( from what i have read on numerous forums which i prefer because in WoW you have a bunch of kiddies running around getting people banned for cussing and none scence shit ). Anyways this is just my thought. I am really going to enjoy playing AoC because it is based on more of a realism point of play. |
Ravager every 1 become a assasin |
I'm in beta, and damn does it rock. |
Evol I think the guy who was saying AoC will have massive pvp with keeps is getting confused with WAR. AoC has kill whoever you want pvp...no organized pvp at all as far as I know. |
its brilliant |
Maroussi21 i play wow for 3 years, but it seems that this game has nothing to offer me now. Don't know when the exp. will finally be launched and aoc seems a good idea to chill out and enjoy some good adult adventure |
Looking forward to this, especially since I've played DAoC. I hope it doesn't dissapoint |
Topdecker This THE place for PVP. |
| BeenPlayingSinceUO Really looking forward to it, especially having played DAoC. I hope it doesn't disappoint. I'm not looking for the WoW killer, just looking for a great mmorpg to play for a while. |
Truth Age of Conan is the Future. I've been playing since the early 3 day release and it rocks. I play it on low graphics settings right now, and it is still beautiful. The water, the scenery and the characters are just plain stunning. The story line is awesome, reminds me of something from a well written movie. The complainers and bashers obviously haven't played. They are probably just the kids that are still playing WoW because their mom won't buy them an M rated game. |
Very boring beta. Get a life or find a better game! |
YARRR! PIRATES! |
Ok game, but AOC wins hands down. |
Anavidgammerthatstillfindsmorethanenoughtimeforalife So far i have played the beta the open beta the early access and finally the retail relase of AoC there have been vast improvements and some set backs. I for one have been a fan of both Whammer since orcs verses humans came out as well as some of the original readings on Conan. I am DEF awaiting both games and will prob find time here and there to play all 3 Including WoW. Why you ask because they all look to beat any other games out on the market. |
| Warhammer40knerd this should b solved with cross game pvp |
Grzzls hahahaha conan mkaes me laugh with joy |
| Markik These both look like good games with plenty of potential, and some of the launch problems of Age of Conan will probably be ironed out by the time Warhammer Online comes out, so we can only really judge which is the best a couple of months after War arrives. However..... Who cares? Starcraft Online is going to destroy both of them! However, Age of Conan will be better than it was at release than Warhammer will be by the time War finally comes out. Regardless, I reiterate, who cares? Wrath of the Lich King will make WoW EVEN BETTER, and what with all the other games that will come out soon [Spore, Civilization Revolution, Alone In The Dark, Starcraft II (and Starcraft Online eventually), Little Big Planet, Battlefield: Bad Company, Champions Online, Prototype, InFamous, Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Too Human, Saint's Row 2, Stargate Worlds, Alpha Protocal, Assassin's Creed 2, ect.] these games may not live past three years, unless they are particularily amazing, and though I wish I could play Age of Conan now and see what's what, I just ordered a new laptop, so I'm holding off 'till it arrives. |
Age of Conan IS A PC MURDERER!!!!!!SAVE YOURSELF |
I own AoC and am in the beta for Warhammer. Let's just say I find very little reason to even log in to AoC. |
FORCE ITS BETTER |
| Jay I have had more fun doing public quests then playing anything, and the instance pvp area was the thrill of a fps with the character and style of wow. The jokes and that gritty feeling make it very very amusing. I always end up wanting and wishing i could play more in PVP or PVE even after playing 12+ hours. There is also no siting around time like wow, no more waiting to make groups or battle ground ques. No more waiting for ppl to sign on. Its just there and ready for you to play. If you want to lay siege to something Do it, there is always people around to back you. |
Yourself Watch google kills your computer on youtube, thats what Age of Conan will do to your comp....You're gunna need some damn good antivirus!!!! |
Chuck Norris lost to WAR in PVP. AOC is a broken POS with no endgame and false advertising right their on their GAMEBOX like Dx10 support, seige weapons, ect ect. 80% of AOC will remain in people's gullible immagination. |
ALsire I almost bought AoC the other day until I learned you have to have a subscription. So I spent some time to read all the reviews and opinions I could. It seems it may be a good game, BUT, something about spending $49.95 for a game so that you can spend more money each month to play the thing that seems a little evil. $49.95 pays for the game software, so therefore you should be able to play it! Period. I'm definitely NOT buying and having money extorted from me each month. |
| Doctor Mobius As far as Warhammer goes.... Meh. There are a thousand fantasy MMO's out there. It will have to hit one out of the park to get me interested. Now 40K online... THAT would get my undivided attention. |
ALsire forty-nine ninety five... that's what it should say up there..lol |
| Sysity Lol Wrath of the Lich King will just make wow get boreing a little less quicker. I had a 70 Rogue, Hunter, Shaman and 65 mage and i just gave hte account ot a friend cause the game fucking blows once you get a toped out character. People talk about no End Game, once you have the best shit in wow thers nothing left to do like every other game. Atleast in Everquest 2 there are housing systems and shit that you can work on instead of just fighting all the fucking time. (29 July) |
Kaarox Don't forget WOW people... I'm hoping wow just dies in a corner.. im not a fan of WAR at all and AOC really has a good look to me, the story line is somthing i can understand and see myself being involved in (in game anyway) and the graphics are actually decent compared to WoW and WAR.. I HOPE ITS THE NEXT POPULAR MMORPG =) AOC for the win |
| Sysity Oh and for both sides of this arguement. The whole waste your money shit. Thats for people without jobs as far as im concerned. I think its worth the money just trying out the game even if it turns out to be shit. I get injoyment just from playing osmething new. Think about how much money people spend on Alcohol, a $50 game will last me more hten $50 in drinks ever could. And this is comming from a military Member, i know people make more money then i do. |
VET AoC looks fun... but I'm worried about all this ganking that keeps on getting brought up. It's sold pretty well, but I think that can be attributed to the boobs. |
Plays amazing |
Valtello Hope this is the wow killer, WoW = Timezappingly boring |
I dunno why ppl complain that WAR coppied the WoW UI? why change something that works? I played WoW and w/e i do play, i get bored within an hour or 2, and then dont come back to it till about a month later, when WoW first came out it was amaizing cuz it was acctually a challange to hit 60, the raids were hard and fun, pvp was awesome and honor titles ment something, once BTC came out WoW fucking shit on itself, and resil in pvp ruined everything, raiding has no palce in WoW anymore, you can just grind BGs for gear and raid in that when you get bored and still get through it WAR so far has been good, although alot of the main keeps and endgame stuff has yet to be unlocked cuz of city ranks and stuff sure its pretty limited atm, but it gives you something to work towards, RVR is fucking fantastic mostly because it is well balanced AoC was alright when i tried it, it was fun for the first 20 lvs cuz the combat system is great, but once you left the starting zone is sucked, mostly because everyone can stealth so all zones look barren cuz ppl are afraid to do anything outside safe zones like cities or towns so In the end both AoC and WAR beat WoW hands down, and the new WoW exp. is total shit WAR is the new WoW, and AoC is just on its own because theres no other game out there yet with the same combat system or style yet. |
Bought it, deleted it, cancelled subscription. Nuff said |
| War is homo war is noob. So kids play. Aoc is awesome, so hardcore mother fuckers will play. |
BeenPlayingSinceUO Leveled an 80 Priest of Mitra, not much to do, a lot of crap broken, game was rushed. System requirements are heavy, hence there won't be as much players as there could be. A bit disappointed, will most likely play until WAR comes out. |
| google ftw! google ftw! |
AoC is terrible... the combat takes two seconds, and the PvP is too fast... AoC was supposed to be the big "skilled MMO PvP" game, but the "skill" is just simple timing that any child could pull off... WoW was an amazing game, but it sucks now, its repetitive and boring, and the PvP sucks... I can't comment on WAR too much yet because I'm not in the closed beta, but it looks far more promising than AoC. WAR > WoW > AoC |
AoC is alright but WAR is everything AoC would/could have been and then some. Of course that is just my opinion though. It all comes down to this in the end though: PvE or PvP. If you like PvE go with AoC, but in that case I'd probably recommend WoW. If you like PvP then look no further than WAR. WAR has some really good PvE in it too, but if you want to spend your life raiding, it lacks that department. WAR also brings an interface familiar to a modded and improved WoW so Wow players who used an interface mod to improve their UI will feel right at home. I should point out that it is not a rip off of wow as it is their own interface in a newer game, as Blizzard stole it from them and because WoW became so popular, everyone assumes it's a ripoff - it's not. Both games look better than WoW. Which is better? I'd have to say the best elements in WAR look better than the best in AoC, but as for the rest it depends who you ask. Neither game is nearly as gear-dependant as WoW either, and require proper skills from the player rather than letting a well geared player beat up on a poor geared player while half asleep. WAR also did not need many patches to work right out of the box, so I give props for that. |
Not bad at all. AoC schools every other MMORPG on the market. Sure it could do with some polish but please lets face it its combat system is superb. That alone is enough to rank it higher than any MMO currently out on the market. AoC > WoW > WAR |
| Boomstick WAR is definitely NOT a WoW clone. Different classes, no class really maps to a WoW class. And any non-noob could tell you that they did not steal the UI from WoW. Blizzard actually stole it from them, made it more popular so now people assume they copied WoW when in fact it is their own interface to begin with! As for being a WoW killer? I think WoW is more friendly to the noobs, but if you're a hardcore raid finatic then you play WoW. If you are a hardcore PvP/RvR finatic, you play WAR. If you want a game you can "beat" and move onto the next one, you play AoC. It's that simple. |

| Foxy Good computer = AoC Normal computer = WAR Worthless computer = WoW |
I was in beta, and must say that it's MUCH better now. I really enjoy it. Great depth, fun combat and stunning graphics. |
| Phantomace This game did NOT live up to the hype!! Very dissapointed with this game!! My score for this game is about 4/10 |
F Wow First and foremost, lets get this straight. WoW is finished. Put simply, the game sucks. I just laugh when anyone has the nerve to try and compare WoW with any current MMO. They should've just made WoW for PS3 or xbox 360. Now for the real business. I haven't played either game yet. Atm I'm playing Vanguard and also have LOTRO on deck. I'm trying to find out if this game is gonna be worth the investment. |
| Miklosan Flop!!! A boring game:( |
DX The truth is: I play WoW just for sunwell and BT( poor baby dont have t6) and is boring. I play AOC most of the time and i love it( poor baby if you cant buy it at the store due M or your shit computer cant handle it) I've played War with my friend=shit than WoW GG no AoC good lucky Wara and WoW more of the same. Think out of the box and see the reality of good games |
| Miklosan Flop!!! A boring game:( |
Mithreal |
| ThornRage This game was fun at first ... but it got boring fast! |
Sentrius An imcomplete and unoptimized game was released. Indeed its freaking great in its gameplay dynamic (mage with 8 fixed pets and more with certain spells) but its generally OVER the edge with its requirements. Even crytech looks better and yet demands less. The reccomended specs its more like the minimum requirements btw. I use a Core2Duo E6600 2 gig Ram and Duo 7600GT on a Sli bridge and I still get a barely decent framerate with shadows and reflections OFF |
This game seems cool at first, but after you play it a while it becomes "flat." Not immersive. Boring. |

| Warsmith Warhammer, a great game lot of fun but, I would have to go with AoC |
Hrock AoC starts strong and then falls on it's face. Hard. If you want to pick up a game that is enjoyable for about a month, then do AoC. After you hit about level 55 though it goes flat and becomes what feels like a massive grind fest. Not enough quests. Not enough immersion. Horrible implementation of end game PvP. |
| Warsmith Warhammer, a great game lot of fun but, I would have to go with AoC |
Doctor Mobius I just hit into AoC. I was never a WoW fan. I could say it was the slow combat, or the cartoon graphics, but honestly it was the people playing that turned me off to it more than anything. The 18+ requirement for AoC is awesome, and at least on my server, Dagoth, I've found players to be nicer, more mature, and above all there's a ton less drama and angst. Granted, I have a lot of levels to go, but over all this is a fun game to play with a great community. It runs fine on my machine, but then I upgraded to max out Crysis a while back so I don't have a typical machine. Can't speak to the end game yet, but so far I haven't had to grind once. That's supposed to change after I cross 55, but honestly if they have to fill only one end first to release on time, then it makes sense to fill the earlier levels first. Not everyone gets to 80 the first month of play. |
| Gay game is fuckn boring no content |
|
| Gay aoc that is duno about war but theat just looks gay so i duno why would it play it if it looks gay i hate gays flame the gays gay gay gay pillow biters.... |
|
Hrock is right. In the early levels 1-20 there is voice acting and interesting quests. After level 20 only spesific destiny quests contains voice acting. At level 20-30 there is as much as three parallel zones, witch gives you the option to choose where you want to go and what you want to do. 30+ and things are allready getting slimmer. You will actually have to choose one of the 20-30 zones and do grey and green quests witch yield low experience, so here we kind of loose the freedom of choice. Onwards from 40 you will have just enough quests to keep you going until 50+ if you do most/all of them. Then it starts to get really thin like mentioned before. You will be stuck with grinding and repeatable villa quests for some levels before you can access new questing zones etc. At 70+ there is supposedly extreme amounts of grinding, but I'm still level 60 so I've got no idea. There is several fun dungeons witch can help on leveling, but unfortunately you may end up getting very low experience points from these. If a player who is 5-10 levels higher join the group, you get the minimum xp for each mob killed(1 xp). Doing it like this once might be ok, since quest hand in gives decent xp. Several times for xp is a bad idea, unless you make level limited groups. "No, you are too high level, you cant join" The game needs a lot of new content to make it playable and fun for the masses. |

| Zero Totally agree with Dr. mobius above. From what it seems written here, most are commenting on a game they havent played or havent played much. I have an 80 Bear Shammy a 65 ToS and a low lvl Guardian, so I can say I have explored this game thoroughly. I think one of the above posts claiming by 50 you will only find enough to get you through to the next level must have been sleeping while going around as the only grinding I needed to do with the shammy was for the massive exp hike I needed from 76-80, that being said I aslo played solo alot and didnt do very many group quests initially, so i missed out on a few quests. Also the grinding that was done 76-80 was done in grp and extremly easy and fun, I look forward to getting to that point with my alts. I do compleatly agree though that the game does need new content, and more quests 50-80 but that is only for the choice and variation. I was never a WoW player or an MMO fan, I played rpg's for the last 20 years though, this was exactly what i thought it would be - a fun game with a million fanboys bitching crying, and ill-skilled idiots with cheap tactics who couldnt fight there way out of a paper bag. (lvl 80s camping a lvl20 zone etc, who coincidently are shit players when its 80 vs. 80) I dissagree about the maturity also, when a game gets reguarded highly, there is nothing but kids flocking to it with the google, "i know all" mentality. This blog page is proof of that, very few players with decent hrs in the game and all of the n00bs talk like they know every ounce of the game already. As far as the complexity of the combat system, anyone who says they are lvl 10 and bored are a friggen joke, playing different classes are extreemly different, i have a soldier and 2 priests and even the 2 out of the 3 priests are extreemly different. |

| Sysity I will be straight forward and say that i have only been to level 15 on this game. And i fucking love it. I have made 5 characters so far to try them out and every last one of them play different, even at low levels. There is no denying that fact unless you are a complete idiot. As far as game content goes, Look how long WOW has been out. Look how many patches they have had. If you played wow in the beginning, you would have said the same damn things "Not enough content" "Things are borken" Well DUH! A game cant be fixed until the problems are discovered. Also, I keep hearing people bitch about the computer requirements. Well i hate to break it to you, it is always going to be this way. If new computer technology comes out and you have the old stuff, you are screwed. Computers have always cost alot, constantly upgrading and whatnot. You cant expect a bran new game to use old school graphics. Just get a better computer and your set. I love the comp requirements for the game, it means that the game looks better. AS posted above, the cartoonish graphics of so many games gets old quick. A game has to push system limits to the max to be the best, look at crysis. |
|
| Sysity FYI, I logged on about 10 Minutes ago, there is a notice for a patch comming out tomorrow that is adding alot of new game content and fixing some of the issues. (July 29th) |
|
| Sysity I would like to throw in yet another comment here, not sure if people still read this because it doesnt show nay dates. Who cares if Warhammer or AOC is better? People play WOW and EQ2, both are fun games. It doesnt matter what people think, play the one you like. |
|
After looking at WAR all I can say is WoW another WOW. I play AOC on a POS computer with graphics turned all the way down and crappy fps and it still blows WoW away. Play AOC for a day and then try to go back to Wow it wont happen. Something about just clicking on the mob over and over and over doesn't strike me as fun anymore after AOC. The combat system in AOC is amazing. War just looks to much like WOW to me. I think I will stick it out on AOC upgrade my computer and watch as they perfect an already kickass game, that is until Diablo 3 releases then D3 all the way. |
|
One more thing I believe causes people to hate on AOC is they are so used to playing a game were nothing is ever a challenge. I love this about AOC because 12 year old immature kids cant even fathom having to think in order to play a game. |

| Halvard Played my Bear Shammy to 77 before i had enough. Pointless PVP, overuse of instancing(heck everything is instanced) and boring dungeons. |
|
| Deluded I've been playing this game for 3 months now and it was fun at first but now I'm 80 and there is nothing left to interest me; alts are not appealing because there is only one starting zone; if you played open beta you got enough of that place to last you forever :P The tradeskills are tied in with the city building, which requires MASSIVE materials and if you are in a "casual" type guild don't expect to be finished with a T3 for months. So you get to 80 and you can't level your tradeskills because you dont have the correct buildings in your city. You try some instances and you find all of the loot is very similar and actually no one can really tell you what stats are really important; I'm not having fun anymore and have preordered Warhammer; I played Mythic's DaoC and had the most fun I've ever experienced in open world pvp. From everything I've read it's got ALOT more content even though they dropped a few classes and cities; bottom line, if you want a game you can enjoy for a year or more, don't buy AoC |
|
AoC has become laughable, the much touted PvP game has no rewards for PvP yet. They said/say its coming. New patch coming on 8/19 (3 months after release) and guess what...no PvP rewards. It was release way too soon and needs tons of work. Seems all Funcom has time to do now is work on some huge memory leaks. Cant wait for Warhammer. |

| Necrofilo AoC is an MMO for the more experienced and mature RPG player. If you're looking for a point and click, no challenge and overall linear game, this isn't it. |
|
If you got a good system play Conan you'll get to play the game the way its meant to. |

I've played WoW for about an year and started to play Aoc from July now. They just added a new zone for 55+ so they are adding a bit of content. When people are bitching about lack of content, it's true. After ~60 you really hit a brick wall and have to grind the shit out either with Villas or just aoe grind. With the new zone I guessing you push it to about 70 at best. The Villas will drive you nuts after awhile. I still enjoy it more than any other MMO for few reasons. Pros -Less idiots (There are always stupid kids but it's rare) I don't see "I'm so drunk/high" comments -Don't fight for mobs since servers are usually not crowded -Awesome graphic -Skill rewarding combat-Chain kills are the way to go in AoC. When you can kill mobs at or higher level than you fast you get tons of extra xp. -Instances are quite fun and players are more skilled in instances overall. In WoW, Pugs are so bad I just give up but in AoC it's not bad. Also even low level instances feel EPIC. They are long but not hard as long as the people know what they are doing. -All of the classes play so differently. Casters and melees are completely different and tons of fun. -Items are easy to get Cons -Servers lag A LOT -PVP is getting patched but it's still incomplete -Lack of content - really bad after 70 -Hard to know what skill/stats are good on your character. There is few info out there to figure it out. Although this could be a positive since you have to figure everything out from scratch. -Balance issues - Some classes are just waaaayy too good at AOE grind I'm not a big fan of PVP and if you love PVP you should walk away from AoC. Solo PVE is the best I've enjoyed but grouping is somewhat hard due to number of players. FYI the memory leak and major bugs are mostly gone now(Nov) |

| Selbs AoC...well, first off, its stunningly beautiful, and its actually kinda relaxing to hack mobs to bits and watch the sunset. ^_^ After playing WoW, Guild Wars etc. etc. for quite a while, its a real breath of fresh air! No longer do I have to click an enemy and sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting for them to die, I actually have to press buttons to attack, and it requires skill to beat enemies. The stealth is great too, I actually have to draw enemies away from large mobs to take them down one or two at a time. Compare the screenshots, and I know straight away which one would draw me in. In WAR I see: -"Mushy Pea" textures, whoever did those, fire him nao! -Sub-Par models, wait, this is supposed to be based of fine crafted Games Workshop models? Pffft. -Dull constant lighting, wow, way to ruin the atmosphere. In AoC I see: -Beautiful High-res and professional texturing (Art) -Stunning models -Atmosphere, Atmosphere, Atmosphere! Now I really FEEL like I'm in a deep dungeon, or a boiling desert, or on a snowy mountain. Correct, it has many flaws and bugs, but beneath these flaws is a truly Immersive, Wonderful, Gritty and Brutally real MMO, unlike any I've ever played before. |
|
| Czyhanastrychu Positives: + maps + atmosphere + just for adults Negatives: - Crafting quests - few bugs |
|
| ThornRage Having a blast in AoC! |
