1. What is this site about. Whats it for?
This site is an online repository for characters people play in MMORPGs. The site exists because many people do not play one game forever. Players move from game to game and in doing so, take up new characters while the old ones become lost. This site allows people to list all the characters they used to play, as well as characters they are now playing. It also can help players to find former comrads and guildmates and see where they are playing now.
2. How do I list my characters on this site?
Simply go to the ADD CHARACTER menu to the left of this page. There you can put in all the details of your character, his/her name, what game, what server (if any), as well as any information unique to that character. Things like accomplishments, level status, the type of character he/she is. If you are a roleplayer you can put down the background story for each character you have.
3. Does it cost money? Do I have to do anything to put my character on this site?
Nope. Everything on this site is free. You are under no obligation to buy, pay or do anything. I do have a few self made ads that link to Amazon.com, ebay etc that you may see to the side. 4. How many characters can I place?
As many as you like or have. There is no limit to the number of characters you can add to the site.
5. If I put my character here, does that mean he's dead?
No. These are tributes to characters both current and past. Death has nothing to do with it. Besides, if he/she were dead...they would just be rezzed by any wandering lev 10 priest who happens by.
6. What are the pictures on each of those pages?
Each character page has a monument scene. Imagine it as a tribute erected to honor your character for all the accomplishments in that game. There are many different terrains, objects, weapons, magic items and much more that you can place in the scene. There are so many objects and terrains now, you can create an endless number of unique scenes.
7. What do I need to make or create the monument scenes?
Any browser with the Flash plugin installed is able to both view and create these scenes. Most every mainstream browser (Explorer, Firefox, etc) has this plugin installed already. Should you need to get the plugin, you can find it HERE. Its a FREE plugin.
8. How do I make a monument scene for my characters?
There are 2 ways to create a monument scene. First , after entering your character's data, you have the option to chose any of the premade template monument scenes. Chosing one of the template scenes does not require a flash plugin. Just click the one you like and it will be assigned to your character.
To make a truely unique monunment to your character, you can use the custom monument creation program. The custom site designer gives you a whole range of terrains, objects, items to place into your scene. You can manipulate each item and arrange it to make it the most fitting for your character. 9. I see a lot of animations in the character monuments...do I have to make the animation?
No, Several objects have animations coded into them. you do not have to do any animation editing. Just place the objects you want in the scene, and enjoy.
10. Is this site only for Fantasy MMORPGs?
No, Any MMORPG character can be placed, no matter what genre. Currently I have mainly fantasy/medieval items and objects. I plan to make SCI-FI areas soon for games like Star Wars Galaxies and Eve online. I hope to get to this soon.
11. What are game specific enviornments? Do my characters have to be from a specific game to have a monument in those areas?
There are no restrictions as to where you can have your character's monument. Any character can be placed in any monument zone.
12. Can I change a monument or the character information after I made it?
Absolutly. You can edit and update your characters information, things hes/shes done or new games that you are now playing. You can also edit your characters monument and change the scene, add or remove items etc. We are adding new enviornments and items every week for players to use.
To edit your monuments or character information, simple go to the LOGIN menu to the left. Type in the username and password and you will bring up a list of all the characters you have placed on the site. There will be options here that allow you to recreate the monuments. Although creating a username and password is totally optional, If you do not create one then you will not be able to edit your character memorials after they are created.
Make sure to use the same username and password for each character you submit.
13. If I put in my email, will I get spam?
I hate spam, I'll have nothing to do with it. You do not need to submit any email address. Any email you place will be displayed on your character monument page so that old guildmates and friends from the games can contact you if they so wish. Entering an email address is totally optional.
14. Can I buy gold and currency for MMORPGs on this site?
No. I dont believe in gold selling or farming. I know some site advertise this and make money from it. But I believe that currency selling and gold farmers ruin game economies and games themselves. I'll have no part in it. This is one reason why I had to learn how to code my own Ads for this site, Google Adsense is loaded with gold farming ads, even if you specifically tell them not to be displayed, they still are.
15. How can I help this site grow?
The best way to help this site is to add your characters and tell your MMORPG friends and guildmates. Help get the word out. Put your character's Link on any website you may have, or in your signature for the message board sites like MMORPG.com, Vault Network, or Onrpg. This way people can find and learn more about your character. Players who have placed their character's page link in their signature receive hundreds of hits.
